What are the prerequisites?

Candidates should have completed an ECDL course or the equivalent prior to registering on this course

Who is it designed for?

For those who wish to start teaching Information and Communications Technology (ICT) in a school, college or commercial training centre and have a keen interest in both IT and teaching others.

Who certifies the course?

JEB from EDI Level 3 certificate in Education Practices and Principles

JEB from EDI Level 3 certificate in Education Practice: ICT Skills

A JEB from EDI Diploma in Education Practice: ICT Skills is awarded to candidates who successfully obtain both the above certificate

What is the progression route?

MOS Master course, FETAC Train the Trainer, Advanced JEB from EDI Diploma

What is the duration?

1 evening per week 6.00pm - 9.30pm for 24 weeks

Saturday 9.30am - 3.00pm for 17 weeks

How is the course assessed?

There are varied course assessments that take place:

ICT case study assessed by EDI

Collection of work - learning resources and assignments for use in an ICT classroom environment

20 hour teaching project including scheme of work

End of course exam on Educational Principles and Practice assessed by EDI. End of course exams will take place either in March, June or November (depending on when the candidate starts the course)
