 Objectives

1. Understand the responsibility of the occupational first-aider
2. Be able to provide treatment for the purpose of preserving life or minimizing the consequences of injury until treated by a medical practitioner or nurse
3. Be able to provide treatment for an injury which does not require the attention of a medical practitioner or nurse
4. Be capable of coordinating first aid arrangements in the workplace
5. Be familiar with health and safety legislation on first aid provision in the workplace
